On October 15, 2012, the City Council of the City of Independence, Missouri approved the creation of the Crackerneck Center Community Improvement District. The Crackerneck Center CID includes approximately 11 acres of prime real estate within Independence. As reported by the Examiner, Crackerneck Country Club, Inc. has filed a petition for the creation of the Crackerneck Center Community Improvement District (“Developer Seeks Special Taxing District“). The CID boundaries include Interstate 470 to the east; by U.S. 40 to the south; by Cochise Court, 46th Terrace and Bass Pro Drive to the west; and by vacant, wooded land to the north. The Independence, Missouri City Council is scheduled to review the petition at its October 1st and October 15th meetings. Thomson Walker, LLC assisted the property owner with the CID creation.
