Power & Light Building Development Moves Forward with NorthPoint Development

The sale and redevelopment of the historic Power & Light Building is moving forward under the guidance of NorthPoint Development, the proposed redeveloper of the Building. City of Mission Woods Drops Eminent Domain Proceeding

Spencer Thomson of Thomson Walker, LLC successfully represented the ground tenant of the commercial building at 1968 Shawnee Mission Parkway in Mission Woods, Kansas in its efforts against the town’s eminent domain proceedings. Mission Woods decided not to pursue its condemnation of the building at the current time.

Thomson Walker Fights Eminent Domain in Mission Woods, Kansas

Thomson Walker has been engaged by the owners of an office building in Mission Woods, Kansas to fight an eminent domain proceeding that would condemn the building on Shawnee Mission Parkway. As one of only two attorneys in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area to be recognized by Best Lawyers for Eminent Domain Law, Spencer Thomson is well-versed to represent the building owner who denies that the building is unfit.

Emporia Pavilions Project Reviewed by Emporia City Commission

Spencer Thomson appeared on behalf of Emporia Land Development, LLC on February 12, 2014, before the Emporia, Kansas City Commission to provide an overview of the developer’s filing of a Tax Increment Financing Application and a Planned Unit District Application. The Applications relate to the project named “Emporia Pavilions”.

The City Commission Study Session meeting was followed by a neighborhood meeting in Emporia, Kansas at the Flint Hills Technical College. The public was asked to listen the development proposal and voice their initial concerns: “Public takes advantage of first chance to discuss Emporia Pavilions development.”

Progress in Edwardsville, Kansas Industrial Park

Jones Development Company and Van Trust Real Estate, LLC are working together to build a new industrial warehouse in the Woodend Industrial Park in Edwardsville, Kansas. Thomson Walker assisted the parties in securing a 10 year property tax abatement from the City of Edwardsville, Kansas.
